Why we build
Ceremony is a design tool.
Most gear is a pile you assemble each time. Ours is a sequence. Here is how and why we build the way we do.
Four rules
Ritual
A setup done the same way every time stops being a chore and becomes a way of arriving. We design the order first: what comes out, where it goes, what goes back. The product is built to make that order obvious.
Grouping
Things used together live together and travel together. The four rail accessories share one roll. Wet panels ride under the deck. The small box is the opening move and the closing one. Curation is organization.
Precision
Laser-cut 5052 aluminum, CNC-routed Baltic birch, domestic powder coat, stainless hardware. Modern tools let a small brand hit tolerances a garage never could. You feel it in the latches.
The right form of energy
Store energy in the form you will use it. Electrons for electronics. Heat as heat. Combustion where density wins. Heating a bed takes a fraction of heating a tent, and a kilowatt-hour stored as hot water costs a few dollars of hardware instead of a few hundred.
Minimize footprint. Sacrifice nothing.
Made where
Designed in Colorado. Cut in the USA. Built in batches.
We don't own a factory and don't pretend to. Parts are cut by American job shops from files we drew, finished and assembled here, and shipped in numbered batches of 25 to 50 with a published window. That is how a small brand makes precise things without a warehouse of them.
Draw
Every part is a file we own.
Cut
Laser, brake, CNC router, powder coat. Domestic shops.
Assemble & test
Here, by hand, on the Frame it ships with.
Ship the batch
Numbered, dated, and photographed before it leaves.
Materials
5052-H32 aluminum
Formable, corrosion-resistant, and it takes a powder coat like paint on paper. Every shell and side plate.
Baltic birch
Thirteen plies, void-free, oil finish. Warm to the hand, flat for a decade.
Oak and waxed canvas
Handles and rolls. Natural material where your hand lands; metal where it doesn't.
304 stainless
Every fastener, hinge and hook. Nothing on an NS product rusts.
